Camping here is a breeze! There’s a parking area nearby, so it’s easily accessible by car. Plus, you’ll find a barbecue area (Barbecue Fanal), running water, and even a toilet. It’s almost like glamping but with a touch of rustic charm. Fanal isn’t just a camping spot – it’s an unforgettable experience.
Wild Camping in Madeira: What You Need to Know
Wild camping is prohibited in Madeira, except in designated recreational areas within the island's forests and mountains. To camp legally in these areas, you must obtain prior permission from the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN, IP-RAM).
How to Apply for a Camping License
- Register: Visit simplifica.madeira.gov.pt and create an account.
- Log In: Once registered, log in to your account.
- Search: Look for "Camping License" in the search bar or go directly to the camping license page: Camping License Application.
