Nestled high above the clouds (and possibly your worries), the Boca dos Namorados Viewpoint is one of Madeira’s best spots to feel nature, peace, and a sudden desire to never leave.
Perched at 1,000 meters altitude in Jardim da Serra—Madeira’s “baby” parish, only official since 1996—this natural balcony gives you front-row seats to the majestic Curral das Freiras valley. Yep, that’s the famous nun hideaway wrapped in dramatic peaks, and no, the drama isn’t overdone.
From this lofty perch, you’ll spot the Eira do Serrado and Madeira’s central mountain massif stretching out in all their green glory. Bonus? There’s a charming hiking trail from here down to Curral das Freiras. Good shoes recommended. Sore legs guaranteed. Regret? Never.
