Cafe do Ritz

Picture this: It's 1905, and a New York businessman, Christian Ritz, gets swept off course by a storm to Madeira Island. He's like, "Whoa, this place is beautiful!" But what really catches his eye is Clara, a local beauty drying salt by the rock pools. Cue the love-at-first-sight music!

Christian's like, "I gotta see her again!" So, he's back the next day with roses, but she's vanished! Drama, right? With some detective work and a little help, he finds Clara. But uh-oh, she's already taken by an English engineer. Talk about a plot twist!

But Christian's not one to give up easily. He keeps wooing Clara with charm and persistence. Fast forward through some ups and downs, and boom, they're married! Christian even names a café after his lady love, The Ritz.

Now, The Ritz has been through some stuff, like a fire in 2007, but it's still standing tall, just like Clara's love for Christian.
