Built way back in the late 15th century (yeah, that old), no one really knows who built it – and that just makes it cooler. A few original elements still stand, like the bell tower and holy water fonts. In 1702, it got a makeover with a fresh single-nave layout, a classic triangular pediment, and a gorgeous Mannerist-style arch at the entrance — because even chapels need a glow-up.

From 1723 to 1908, it went through more renovations (who doesn’t?), eventually landing the elegant Baroque interior we see today — golden altarpiece and all. Inside, you’ll also spot artworks by Nicolau Ferreira and Luís Bernes, which is the 18th-century equivalent of saying, “We hired the best.”

Officially declared a Municipal Monument in 1993, this little chapel is still going strong — especially on December 8th, when the town celebrates the Feast of the Immaculate Conception with full-on local vibes.

Sacred, stylish, and seriously scenic. Stop by, light a candle, and thank whoever built it — even if we don’t know their name.
